A Modest COVID Proposal: Stop Treating the Unvaccinated
From the beginning, the deniers have said it should be a matter of personal choice whether to wear masks or whether to get a vaccine.
Great. Let’s take you up on the offer more fully. If you’ve opted out of helping the rest of us manage COVID, then please opt out of seeking treatment.
If you decided your homeopathic immunological therapy was better than vaccines, live by your principles. If you felt personal freedom was more worthwhile than heeding the advice of professional epidemiologists, stay true to your convictions. If you were so convinced that the news media and government types were blowing things out of proportion, then don’t make a big deal out of your own COVID infection.
Just. Live. With. It. Be brave. Be solitary.
Something like 75% of all COVID hospitalizations are among the unvaccinated, which means: you are all hypocrites. If it’s a personal choice, why are you leaning on others to help you survive it? Shouldn’t you be leaning on the things you were leaning on before you got sick?
If it’s a personal choice, it should be a choice between these two things:
- I believe we’re interconnected, and I trust the science. I have done my part to help the collective response, and if I get sick despite all our best efforts, I choose to rely on the medical profession I’ve been relying on all along.
- I believe the right not to listen to others is more important than anything else, and I’ve treated the medical professionals with suspicion. I choose not to trust them, regardless of what I’m going through, because they are only motivated by a desire to control and condescend.
If the latter is how you feel, then what are you doing in the hospital? Save that hospital bed for us sheep who can’t think for ourselves. After all, we will glady allow the medical professionals to magnetize our blood and insert microchips under our skin. Don’t take this away from us!!
